  • Therapy helps you understand important relationships in your life, especially if you have questions or want to make changes. People typically reach out to us because they are having trouble managing their own feelings, or often feel angry, sad, or anxious. That being said, it is always a good time to see a therapist for a mental health checkup, just like you would go to get a physical exam. There does not need to be anything “wrong”in your life for you to want to make it better.

Rest assured, we will not charge your account until we have spoken to you about the missed session.

  • For most couples, trying out therapy is not an easy decision. It can be hard to acknowledge that things are not entirely perfect in a relationship that started out with high hopes and great expectations. It takes courage to acknowledge that everything we have tried at home has not been enough to achieve the results we are looking for. Research has found that the longer couples wait before seeking counseling, the harder it becomes to turn around unhelpful habits and resolve hurt and resentment. When relationship problems persist for three months or longer, even a brief consultation with a couples counselor can be helpful in setting the partnership on a better course. Couples therapy can also provide tools in preparation for relational transitions, such as marriage and the birth of a child, or offer comfort following a shared tragedy.

  • Therapy can help families understand how their relationships work as a unit, and how those dynamics impact the family's response to everything from major life events to simple tasks of daily living.

Our clients typically reach out to us because they are having trouble managing their interactions, or a member of the family often feels angry, sad, or anxious.

No matter what stage of life your family is going through, therapy can be among the best choices you make to work together toward meaningful change.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you recognize unhelpful/inaccurate thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors, and replace them with more constructive ones. CBT is especially effective in treating anxiety and depression, but also helps with general stress management. The goal of CBT is for the clients to overcome their conditions and see significant improvement in how they feel towards life overall, moving beyond temporary coping and endurance.

CBT is a problem-focused, evidence-based, and skills-based treatment that not only provides a framework for understanding what maintains problems, but also teaches practical tools and strategies for breaking unhelpful thought and behavioral patterns. CBT is backed by extensive research over the past five decades that exhibit strong evidence for effectively treating anxiety and depression.

  • Throughout treatment, we will measure progress to ensure that the skills learned are effective and helping you reach your goals. While each case is unique to the people involved and the treatment goals might vary over time, many problems can be addressed in 12 to 20 weekly therapy sessions.

  • Typically, we recommend 1 visit every week for the first couple of months. But it all depends on your circumstances and treatment plan. It could be 1 visit a week. 1 visit every 2 weeks. 1 visit every quarter, etc. You can discuss with your therapist about your treatment plan.

  • The Solstice represents the longest and shortest day of the year. It occurs yearly and it always repeats. Just like events in our life, we can learn to manage and thrive with such events. No matter how different your day is, your soul will continue moving along. The soul represents what it means to be ready to live every second of life! Also, inspired by the Pixar movie Soul!
